The SWZ-SD is a standard definition PTZ camera which provides 360° of pan and 270° of tilt travel. The zoom function is actuated through switching across its four miniature cameras, each of which has a lens with a different focal length.
On the receipt of a zoom command the SWZ SD will flip the video source between each of the four cameras, thus allowing a wide range of zoom angles to be achieved.
As standard the four lens focal lengths are 4, 8, 16 and 35mm, although each of these can be customer defined upon request.
Other than the size advantage, using prime lenses over a varifocal lens also provides a faster lens resulting in better low light performance. It also eliminates the need for small low torque drives often found in zoom lenses which have a tendency to vibrate on vehicle applications, causing picture degradation.
The camera is a compact 55mm diameter design mounted in an environmentally sealed, aluminium CNC machined housing. For mounting a 1/4-20 UNC tripod insert is integrated into its base.
The SWZ SD can be controlled using proprietary VE software applications or other compatible control applications. The camera will respond to messages in Visca or PelcoD on either RS232 or RS485 serial interfaces.
The kit includes a mains power supply and a comms break out cable which connects into the Fischer connector on the base of the camera.
